This week we launched an upgraded Event module with a few extra features that make setting events easier. Some of the new features include the option to update previously created events, event categories and a module reset button. We also added a Calendar module which integrates with the Event module.

Twitter lists are a new feature that have just been rolled out by Twitter. Essentially allowing users to create custom lists of people that others can follow with one click thus creating a new way to find interesting users to follow.

Earlier this month Webjam's Product Manager published an updated Product Roadmap where she outlined the functionality the team will be working on in the coming months.

We have finished a set of features that ensures your viewers and members can be fully immersed in your own environment. One example you may have noticed is that 'webjam' has been replaced by 'network', thus referring to your own social network by default and avoiding any confusion between your own site and Webjam, the platform you use to build it. When visiting your network you will notice some changes to the top bar. We have launched a simplified, neutral, cleaned-up version of the top bar which includes a link to your dashboard and a more accessible search box. The new dashboard gives access to a cleaner and more scalable layout that includes everything a network editor or a user would need. Read more

The newsletter is one of the best ways to keep in contact with your members and you can now allow non-Webjam users to register to receive your newsletter. Additionally, if you have a Premium webjam you will be able to upload a list of email addresses of people you'd like to receive your newsletter.
There's been a small tweak to the top bar - the 'Register' link has been replaced by a 'Join' link. This is part of a project that will enable non-members to easily join your site, without the confusion between joining the Webjam platform & joining your specific network.
It's now easier to use the 'My webjams' & 'Page navigation' modules. These modules are used to display your pages & sites, and you can now reorder these using drag and drop functionality.

Webjam is proud to announce compatibility with the new Google-lead API for writing social applications - OpenSocial. This means that it is now possible to write applications that can sit within a webjam page and utilise the data of the page itself, information about the editor and the current user, their friends and the activities that are associated with them.
