The new Activity feed allows you to view activities of your friends and the webjams you belong to, and lets you display the activities on your webjam to visitors to your site.

• The Activity Log: by selecting the 'activity' link in the top-bar (top right on the page next to your username) you will see a light-box containing the activities of your friends and the webjams you belong to.
• The Activity module: by adding an Activity module to your webjam (from the Community tab under Modules) you can view your own, your page's or your webjam's activities.

 

Here are some questions & answers to help you understand the functionality of the Activity feed:

Why can't I see the changes I made to my webjam/my profile?
When you select the Activity Log (the 'activity' link from the topbar) you will see the activity of your friends and your webjams, but not your own activity. You will be able to see all the activity of your friends (on public webjams and on Members-only webjams you are both members of), and all the activity of webjams you are member of (even if performed by people who are not in your friend list).

The activities that you will see include: comments added to the Blog and My Photos module, new posts on the Bulletin module, topics added to Forums and comments on those topics, new photos added to the My Photos module, new members and new friendships formed.

Changes to your profile are not reported.

You will not see your own changes in the Activity Log.

Where do I see my own activity?
By adding the Activity module to your webjam you can choose to show activity for you, for your page or for your whole webjam.

The Activity module will report all changes you or your co-editors make to the Blog, Bulletin and My photos modules and all comments people write on these modules.
To add the Activity module, sign in and add the module from Modules, under the Community tab. Once on your page click EDIT and choose the type of feed you prefer to show.

What type of activities does the Activity module show?
You will see changes to some modules (Blog, Bulletin, My photos), new members and new co-editors of a webjam. You will see activity for Public webjams and webjams you are a member of. You will also see your own friend requests and invites to webjams.

I added an Activity module to my webjam & set it to show my activity, but I see different things logged in and logged out, why?
The activity module has a different display to ensure your privacy. If you are logged in, we know it is you looking at the module, and show you all your own activities. If you are logged out, we will only display your activity on Public webjams. Any activity on a Private/Members-only webjam will only be displayed for those who are also members or co-editors.

I know my friend has a new post on his blog, but I don’t see it on the Activity Log, why?
It is likely that your friend's blog has been set to private or members only. You will not be able to view this blog post until you become a member of your friend's webjam. The activity log will only show activities that you are allowed to view according to the privacy settings and your relationship with other users.
